Alpinist Safety Consultants (Pty) Ltd (ASC) was founded in 1995. At that time South African companies were becoming more and more aware of the benefits of using climbing equipment for work at height. We identified a need for equipment designed specifically for the work environment as well as training and consulting on work solutions.

Today ASC operates nationally and extensively throughout Africa from our Cape Town and Midrand offices which both feature warehousing and state-of-the-art indoor training facilities.

As an irata-accredited equipment supplier, ASC supplies a vast range of ropes, harnesses, helmets and other equipment required for work at height. All equipment carries the CE mark where applicable and is independently tested. Our prices are very competitive and our staff very experienced in supplying customized solutions.

As an irata-accredited training company, ASC provides internationally as well as locally recognized courses in fall arrest, rope access, rescue, hauling and more. Training is provided at our indoor training centres or at your site. ASC is the official supplier of equipment and training to Telkom SA Ltd.

On the operational side we install permanent vertical and horizontal lifelines, place bolts (and test them), undertake access work ranging from maintenance to large-scale geo-technical and offshore work. We also have access to specialized welding and related skills.

ASC is proud to have been chosen to undertake rock barring and catch fence installation on Chapmans Peak Drive during 2003/3.

Our staff travel extensively meaning we are often able to consult face to face on work solutions.

Alpinist Safety Consultants (Pty) Ltd (ASC) has been awarded institutional accreditation from the Education and Training Quality Assurance committee of the Service SETA (Sector Education Training Authority), confirming that it has the capacity to deliver education and training in line with criteria specified by the South African Qualification Authority (SAQA).
